Hints for Agile Transformation- Part 3

Have you ever seen a movie called Inception?

Watch it. It’s the most valuable advice I could ever give to you.

You need to know, and to practice, inception on those around if you want things to be Agile :).

Have a nice week!

I saw it last week and I loved it.
I agree with you that we need to do it on people around us to change things. I’m still figuring out how to do it though.

:) not easy! but once you figure it out you won’t miss a goal :D also I believe it depends on who is doing inception and on who is getting incepted :) .. so it’s not 1 recipe fits all :).

I would say real Leaders know how to do this easily, that’s why we say :
A dispensable leader is an indispensable leader :)

So you’re saying brainwashing is the preferred technique for agile adoption? Am I missing something here?

Nope :) it has to do with seeding an idea and then let people grow it :) rather than trying to impose them to people, even when we know this ideas are the right thing to do.

People like change, the problem is they don’t like to be changed :).

So It’s about minimizing the impact required. We talk about trust so maybe we should try to let people grow the ideas their own way (helping them during that process so that the garden does not go wild) and trust they’ll get there by their own foot.
If people feel they were able to grow the idea, they will embrace it.

So: No, it’s not about brainwash. It’s about trust and Humanity.
